What Attendees Are Saying About GJM’s Manufacturing Roundtables

“The Manufacturing Roundtables have turned out to be an event I do not want to miss. There are two very material benefits to attendance. The topics are consistently very beneficial to my organization and specifically have resulted in executable ideas for EBITDA improvements. Further independent of the specific topics, it is a great opportunity to discuss a plethora of issues with your peers in the manufacturing arena. As a GJM client, this is a great example of how GJM provides value to my business.”

-Fred Dannhauser, President, Quaker Manufacturing

“The Manufacturing Roundtable that GJM hosts three times per year is definitely a good use of one’s time. The topics are relevant and timely and the guest speakers/facilitators have been top notch. I have also derived benefits from the networking opportunities available at these events. It’s very beneficial to have 25-30 manufacturing/distribution finance professionals together to use as a sounding board and to generate discussion about the issues affecting all of us and the different ways individual companies may be responding to those issues. Whether it’s commiserating about the latest rules from the IRS, FASB, DOL, State of Ohio, etc. or sharing best practices on a variety of topics that directly affect the world of manufacturing, finance and accounting, I look forward to spending time with colleagues and the folks from GJM at these events.”

-Matt Dixon, Corporate Controller, Spangler Candy Company

“The Manufacturing Roundtable is very well run and is a strong return on your investment of time. Meaningful and relevant speakers are brought in and GJM does an outstanding job of facilitating real world discussions during and after the presentations. In addition to the speakers, we have meaningful roundtable discussions between CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, Controllers, CIOs and the like. Often those discussions are as valuable and sometimes even more valuable than the presentations themselves. No disrespect to the presentations, but the laser in focus of some of those roundtable discussions can be very helpful. One can not only validate their processes with other talented professionals, but in some cases glean insights to potentially take their workings to the next level to add additional value for their company’s stakeholders. GJM does a fine job of grouping us at the tables to maximize our ability to have those meaningful discussions by getting folks together with similar situations and the willingness to share with each other. Also, the quality of the people who attend is very high. They are not just smart folks but just good folks and many have become dear colleagues. I have attended for years and would recommend financial executives come to a few sessions to properly evaluate if it is right for them.”

-JB Blackwelder, Former CFO, Crown Battery

I was introduced to the GJM Manufacturing Roundtable about a year and a half ago. I have found it to be a rewarding investment of my time.  I have been able to meet other financial leaders of both smaller and larger companies in the area. We openly share our challenges, thoughts and experiences with one another in a somewhat informal setting. Also of value have been the speakers we have engaged with.  I will be meeting tomorrow with a consultant/accountability coach that I met at my first roundtable and that spoke to us at a later event (Scott Gray, Business Coach with Six Disciplines consulting Services, Findlay). Without the roundtable, I would not likely have come to know of the process and capabilities that were available in this area. I look forward to participating in many more of these valuable gatherings in the coming years."

-Larry Jones, VP of Finance & CFO, Principle Business Enterprises, Inc.
